I am Becky Cinema, the resident film critic, celebrity gossip and snark at large for Friday's "Straight Talk with Bill McEwen" show.

My credentials as a film critic are largely self-made. Film has been my avocation since I was a young girl. I have studied film at the University of California at Davis, as well as editing, music and how movies are assembled. I also attend a fair amount of film festivals every year to see the new movies before they are open to the public.
 
I have attended the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado for  six years. I   have seen  the Academy Award- winning film every year there before  the film's opening, as well as the Best Actor performance  five of the six years. I also attend the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

I have been to the Toronto Film Festival twice. Of course, the film festivals are full of the stars of the new films, directors and writers. It is very exciting because the celebrities are accessible and eager to talk about their films.  I love everything about movies and still get excited at the movie theater when the lights go off.

Although I am a full time businesswoman, every spare moment I have is spent at the movie theater or watching films at home.

The last few minutes of the Becky Cinema segment is a snarky story or anecdote about one movie celebrity or another. I like to say my motto is "Live and let live, except for Hagdonna and Jennifer Aniston."
